California International Young Artists Competition (CIYAC)

has a mission to encourage the appreciation and performance of classical music by young people. In furtherance of this mission we are happy to announce the third annual MusicFest that will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2008. It will be a friendly competition for young musicians in the Southern California Region. There will be lots of encouragement in the form of medals, certificates and lots of warm hospitality. We will also be awarding needs-based music instruction scholarships for qualifying medalists. The venue is the California State University at San Marcos.

Gold medalists will be invited to perform a special concert on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, at 3:00 p.m.. This will be a free public concert and will be followed by a public reception.
